Cabo San Lucas, MX - 07 Mar 2006

0900 Hrs. Sunny, 90F. Robin and I took a tender from the boat to shore, where we picked up a bus that led us to the fishing port/resort town of Cabo San Lucas and the home of Cabo Wabo Cantina (Sammy Hagar's Restaurant).

Dockside the Brown Pelicans make roosts of anything that floats.

We took a guided boat ride to Land’s End, the southernmost tip of the Baja Peninsula.

Spectacular rock formations

and views of Sea Lions

whales, and Brandt’s Cormorants.

On the way back to the boat we got views of the resorts scattered along the coast.

Only a few other birds were seen here: Heerman’s Gulls (a couple), Immature Ring-billed (no adults), Turkey VulturesMagnifent Frigatebirds

Brown Pelicans, and a Green Heron.

We then boarded a bus and drove into town, where we got magnificent views of the bay from a mountaintop resort. Several Turkey Vultures

made use of the updrafts to soar above and below us! While waiting for our tender back to the ship we were entertained by a couple of crabs skittering along the rocks.

We headed back to the ship and to the end of a nice vacation.
