HawkFest 2018, Day 1 - 15 Sep 2018

Forecast for the weekend would be high 80's and high humidity. I wasn't expecting many birds flying this weekend so perhaps spending the weekend at Hawk Fest would be the place to be. Crowds were down from previous years, but a nice mix of people visited the Marshland Museum at Lake Erie Metropark. Rehab raptors were there, including this gorgeous Barn Owl.

Natalie Cypher brought a very angry Sharp-shinned Hawk that had no tail.

It was hot, humid and uncomfortable, but still fun. We even had birds flying in across the canal and kettling overhead.
