Pt. Mouillee - 30 Aug 1987
30Aug87 Pt. Mouilee
1000 hrs. Clear, sunny and windy (20-25mph), 65c. Had lots of rain this week and the marsh looks it! Water level is high enough to discourage any waders, which is why I can't see any. There are a few Monarch Butterflies on the east side of the marsh, sunning and feeding on the loosestrife. The birds of the day are definitely Pied-billed
Grebes. There were at least 12-20 pairs in the marsh. I saw a few
Caspian Terns and Cattle Egrets, along with the usual accompaniment
of Great Blue Herons and Great Egrets.
