18 February 2004 LEMP/Pt. Mouillee

This evening at Lake Erie Metropark I had a flock of AMERICAN ROBINS (150+) on the lawns outside the entrance. I'm suggesting that these are not overwintering birds since several dozen more were observed passing overhead.

I also had a HERMIT THRUSH next to Marshland Museum, and (4) WHITE-THROATED SPARROWS.  No luck seeing owls....

Point Mouillee was quiet except for a few TREE SPARROWS and (2) BALD EAGLES

FYI - Lake Erie is open, with only a small amount of ice next to shore. I'm guessing that the Huron River will be ice free in the next several days as its beginning to thaw at Pt. Mouillee HQ
