The birds were gracious enough to give me a great backdrop for
photographing as several of them scooted up onto the rocks affording
me great looks at their plumage:

- plump body w/ small head and small bill
- darker cap relative to the Black-bellied Plover
- gray breast/underparts w/ white spots/barring
- light armpits in flight
- darker tail/rump in flight

Black-bellied Plovers:
- larger head and larger bill rel. to the Golden
- lightly-streaked breast and white underparts
- dark armpits in flight
