Killdeer at BASF - 27 Apr 2005

27 April 2005 BASF Corp., Wyandotte, MI

0700 Hrs.  I drove down to the end of the road off the main entrance to see if anything of interest could be seen.  After this last weekend’s snow and rain all week it’s the first decent morning.  Trees are leafing out, as are bushes.  Lilacs starting to flower already, but the bird migration is way behind.  Warblers still only trickling in.

At the end of the road I saw a Gray Fox or possibly a young Coyote in the grass.  It had gray and red like a Coyote, but had almost no tail.  Very cute.

Also saw 2 pair Kildeer on site.
