Wyandotte Golf Course - 20 Apr 2005

20 April 2005 Wyandotte Shores Golf Course, Wayne Co.

1700 Hrs.  Chris Utz and I played 9 holes at the golf course at the southern end of Wyandotte.  The course has been mowed low everywhere, including roughs and thick grass.  Too bad.  Its great habitat for Meadowlarks and Savannah Sparrows in the spring.    I did hear 1 Eastern Meadowlark, and 2 Savannah Sparrows on the course, including a cute little one hiding in the bunker on the 9th hole.  I also heard a Spotted Sandpiper along the rocks on the Detroit River.  A Red-shouldered Hawk was soaring over the north end of Grosse Isle.
