Sterling State Park - 03 Sep 2005

0830 Hrs.  I drove the scooter down to Sterling State Park this morning.  Clear skies, mild weather made for a nice ride.

The pond next to the bike trail held several Mallard, Wood DuckGreat Blue Herons and a single Green Heron.  I digiscoped the Green Heron in the bright sunlight.

A walk along the bike trail gave good looks at a Great Egret, and while photographing I saw an Osprey being harrassed by a Caspian Tern.

A Red-tailed Hawk proved quite elusive until I was able to get some decent shots at it on an electrical tower.

A pair of Greater Yellowlegs were the only other shorebirds than Killdeer. Distant Double-crested Cormorants were the only other birds seen.
