Happy End to 2005! - 31 Dec 2005
0830 Hrs. Overcast, drizzling, cool, 35ºF. Just a dark, drab morning (again!). Walked the trails along the nature center and things really picked up. Dozen American Robins, White-throated Sparrows, Black-capped Chickadees, Cedar Waxwings, six or so Yellow-rumped Warblers, a Red-bellied Woodpecker, Downy Woodpeckers, Dark-eyed Junco, Northern Cardinals, White-breasted Nuthatch, and possibly a Long-eared Owl (large bird flew into the brush near where they were roosting last January).

I then drove over to Pt. Moo HQ and saw a flock of Mute Swans flying low over the ice. Lots of duck hunters out today! I used the car as a blind to shoot an immature Red-tail Hawk roosting in an overhead tree (400mm f/5.6 w/ 1.4X TC and flash).
