Crosswinds Marsh - 19 Mar 2006
1300 Hrs. Robin and I took a walk around Crosswinds Marsh this afternoon. I have no binocs, scope or camera, so must rely on eyesight and ears today. Its sunny, 40F, and windy with a slight chop on the water. A Bald Eagle is soaring over its nest area and a second is possibly on the nest. A handful of Canada Geese are on the water, with only a Mute Swan. Numerous Robins are on the grass near the parking area, and my first pair of Killdeer are near the drainage ditch. I heard chips from a Tree Sparrow (?) and saw/heard numerous Song Sparrows. A small flock of Common Grackles were singing overhead, and the fields are alive with Spring Peepers and/or Chorus Frogs. Spring is tomorrow!
