Mexico Cruise, Day 1 - 01 Mar 2006

1300 Hrs. Robin and I just got off the plane at Los Angeles and were riding a cab to the Port of Los Angeles in San Pedro to start our Mexican Riviera cruise aboard the Norwegian Star. We were in the cab and had no idea if the driver was taking us where we needed to go. He spoke little English, and all we knew it was going to cost at least $60 US to get there. But we arrived after doing almost 90 mph the whole way. As they say, “he wasn’t a good driver, but at least he was fast!”

At the docks we saw Western Gulls, Rock Pigeons, Ring-billed Gulls and a female American Kestrel outside our cabin window. It was cool outside (60ºF) but sunny, and that’s all we wanted.
