1700 Hrs.  While driving south on C65 just north of M-88 I saw a pair of Vesper Sparrows courting on a fence along the road.  The pair were hopping, flapping and flying up and down, almost in mock battle.  I could see the white outer tail feathers and the chestnut shoulder patches.

0830 Hrs.  Driving south on Co-624 I saw a single Upland Sandpiper on a fencepost next to the field where I saw a dozen Bobolink and several Grasshopper Sparrows last time up.  Nice addition to the grassland survey…
