Elk Rapids Sewage Ponds - 10 Sep 2006

1330 Hrs.  Took a ride out to Sleeping Bear Dunes this morning, and stopped by the Elk Rapids Sewage Ponds (Antrim Co.) on the way back to see if any shorebirds were still about.  From outside the fence I was able to spot a STILT SANDPIPER in basic plumage along the near shoreline of the closest pond.  Also seen were:

(1) Pectoral Sandpiper

(6) Greater Yellowlegs

(1) Least Sandpiper

(3) Solitary Sandpipers

(2) Killdeer

(3) Wood Ducks in far pond

I was only able to scope for about 5 minutes, so I didn't get to spend alot of time looking more closely.
