Winds and Whitecaps - 25 Mar 2007

1400 Hrs.  Got the bike out and rode the dikes from Siegler Rd.

Saw a Bald Eagle over Campau Rd and another just south of Siegler Rd.  Wind was blowing something fierce, and whitecaps were seen in the river and on the lake.  Plenty of waterfowl, but mostly too far out to photograph.

As I rode out to Cells 5 and 4 I spotted several Killdeer and Green-winged Teal.

The middle causeway kicked up a Horned Lark and a pair of Golden-crowned Kinglets.

A female Northern Harrier was flushed near the Vermet Unit.

A Greater Yellowlegs was reported yesterday by Greg Norwood but not seen today.
