Pt. Mouillee SGA - 21 Jun 2008

Will Weber and I met up to bird Pt. Mouillee SGA this morning. Skies were clear and temps were in the mid 70's with highs in the 80s forecasted. Highlights of the morning included several Song Sparrows

and Willow Flycatchers near the Pump House. Both birds were digiscoped.

We had nice views of Black Terns as they foraged between the Lead and Vermet Units.

Great Egrets and Forster's Terns also made for nice fly-by pics.

Mayflies were hatching this morning, as Will and I could attest. These pics were taken along the east side of the Vermet next to the treeline.

I took my leave of Will late in the morning and headed back to the car. We managed to see a Black-necked Stilt in the Long Pond Unit (reported on the 13th) and I took a short digiscoped video for record.

I'd manage to digiscope this Eastern Kingbird on the way back to the car.
