Antrim Co. - 29 Apr 2010

A quick trip up to the condo the check A/C this weekend. We left Friday morning with the plan to return home Saturday morning. A Great lunch at the Red Mesa in Traverse City was followed by a wonderful dinner at the Blue Pelican just up the street from us in Central Lake. Skies were clear, and weather was a perfect 84ºF.

An afternoon walk around the neighborhood netted a Yellow-billed Cuckoo, a nesting Common Grackle, Warbling Vireos, and Baltimore Orioles.

After dinner I took a quick run over to Childs Rd and M-65 to look for Grasshopper Sparrows. I failed to hear a single bird, but did pick up Eastern Meadowlark and a singing Vesper Sparrow. On my way out this Chipping Sparrow made a dash for cover just next to the car.
