One Week Before BWIB - 27 Apr 2013

The weather is finally warming and the birds have arrived.  Magee Marsh and the greater NW Ohio region is a week away from the Biggest Week in American Birding Festival and conditions are ripe for a great time!  The birds are here.  More are coming.

A walk through the boardwalk area today yielded a great number of birds, and birders/photographers are already enjoying the offerings.  This morning folks were treated to Yellow-throated Warbler and Blue-winged Warblers, while others (including me) found White-eyed Vireo, Blue-headed Vireo, Yellow-rumped, Palm, Black-and-White, and Black-throated Green Warblers.  House Wrens and Tree Swallows have set up shop, while Winter Wrens, Hermit Thrushes, Ovenbirds, Northern and Louisiana Waterthrushes, Carolina Wrens, and otherscontinue for several weeks now. The White-throated Sparrow was close enough for some really nice portraits.
