Osprey have Returned! - 18 Apr 2014

A bike ride around Pt. Mouillee turned up 7 Osprey late this afternoon. A pair were on the nest along Roberts Rd. while three more were observed in the trees along Rheaume Rd.  A pair of birds may possibly be nesting along Gibraltar Rd. at the RR tracks.  I didn't think to check the tower in the Humphries Unit.

Other highlights included 7 Horned Grebes on Lake Erie at the mouth of the Huron River, several dozen Blue-winged Teal, and close BIFs that included Bonaparte's Gull and Forster's Terns.

Bonaparte's Gull

Forster's Tern

American Coot
