Detroit River Hawk Watch - 25 Oct 2015


Clearing skies and cooler temperatures brought a nice flight of Turkey Vultures today. I was hoping for a Golden Eagle, but was not unhappy to settle for large kettles of the big buzzards, Cooper's Hawks, Sharp-shinned Hawks, and good numbers of Red-tailed Hawks, Northern Harriers, Bald Eagles and Red-shouldered Hawks.

 







If you look close enough at the report above you'll see that 16 Golden Eagles were seen in the afternoon. As I promised Mary Tremblay they would appear as soon as I left. I was not wrong.
