New Behavior - 12 Jan 2016

I came home from work a bit after 4 pm and checked the feeders. I spotted the Golden-crowned Sparrow perched in the hedges while a dozen Dark-eyed Juncos, 3 American Tree Sparrows, the White-throated Sparrow, 10 House Finches, and several House Sparrows foraged on the ground and at the feeder. The Golden-crowned Sparrow then flew to the feeder and spent several minutes eating sunflower oilers directly from the source! This was the first time I'd seen it anywhere but the ground.

It spent better than 20 minutes below the feeders before flying off for the evening.
