Juncos Have Returned! - 23 Oct 2016

I saw my first Dark-eyed Junco of the fall Friday afternoon, 21 October 2016 behind the house here at Brownton. Today, there were 10 juncos in the yard! Though they've been around for the past 2 weeks, mostly near the Lake Erie shoreline and parks, this is the first time I've seen them under the feeders.

Other nice sightings include White-throated and White-crowned Sparrows (both juveniles), and a lovely Song Sparrow. Both Ruby-crowned and Golden-crowned Kinglets are making appearances; they are heard more than seen w/ their high-pitched "psiit!" calls.
