Ruff Outing - 30 Apr 2018
Once I was able to see the Pacific Loon at Lake Erie Metropark I took off for Pt. Mouillee to try to catch a glimpse at the white-headed male Ruff that was found this past Saturday. Parking at Mouillee Creek I rode out to the Pump House where the SW corner of the Humphries Unit held several hundred shorebirds.
Apparently, the black-headed male was found this morning by Bob Bochenek. The white-headed Ruff was last seen south in the Bad Creek Unit about a ¼-mile down the trail. I rode down there and spent another 20 minutes scoping as many and more of the above-mentioned birds. I could not relocate the white-headed male Ruff. It would be re-found the next day, though.
