A Few More From the River - 26 Jan 2019
Most of the Detroit River is frozen. A bit of open water can be found at Dingell Park in Ecorse, but only a few Mallard were cooperative this afternoon. A pair of American Black Duck were a nice surprise, though.
Several hundred to a thousand Redhead and Canvasback were tightly packed in the only open water patches near the middle channel of the river, but only a few Redhead flew by close enough for pics.
Bufflehead, Common Goldeneye, and Common Mergansers were keeping to the middle of the river.
