Mackinac Island - 16-19 Sep 2019

Robin and I drove up to Mackinac Island this week and spent it at the Inn at Stonecliffe. We took our bikes so that we could ride the island (apparently our motorcade wasn't allowed). It was cold and rainy all day Monday and first part of Tuesday, but the skies began to clear by Tuesday and we had nice weather all day Wednesday.

A Merlin perched near the Governor's Residence was the only highlight on Monday.  Tuesday brought a family of Yellow-bellied Sapsuckers to the trees outside our room (parent and 2 juveniles) and they entertained us during our stay.  Luckily, Wednesday was nice enough to get some pics.

A few warblers were also seen. American Redstart, Palm Warbler, and Yellow-rumped Warbler. Other than that a flock of American Crows were the only other notable birds during the trip.
