1st Warbler of 2020 - 11 Apr 2020

Robin and I drove to Willow Metropark for an early morning walk on this clear-but-cold morning. Highlights included a first Yellow-rumped Warbler of the year that I was able to capture at a distance with the Sony a7RIV and 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 GM OSS combo. The cropping power of this camera compensates nicely for the lack of reach.

A pair of Eastern Bluebirds were flying alongside Robin while she walked, but I was too far behind to get any pics. Instead, I could only photograph a less moving subject.

Other highlights included a Yellow-bellied Sapsucker, a pair of Song Sparrows, a first Ruby-crowned Kinglet, and a Rusty Blackbird singing in the canopy.
