Marsh Wren at LEMP - 24 May 2020

Robin and I took a late afternoon bike ride at Lake Erie Metropark. We parked at the marina at the foot of Lee Rd., and rode the parking lot northward toward the entrance to the park (the bike path was flooded). A noisy Marsh Wren was singing very close from a stand of cattails and phragmites, so I decided to stop on the way back to see if I could get some pics (I was carrying the Sony a9 and 100-400mm f/4-5.6 GM OSS lens).

True to form, the tiny warrior popped into view after a few pushes, and allowed a quick set of photos before I let him back to defending his territory from 3 other singing wrens.

Meanwhile, this Bullfrog quietly watched us from just a few feet away.
