Blue Grosbeak - 02 Jul 2020

Robin and I drove down to the Antenna Farm after work to look for the Blue Grosbeak. I had seen it earlier in the trees just west of Labo Rd and Haggerman Rd. so I suspected it was nesting in the giant silver maples that were next to the farm house on the north side of Haggerman.

We arrived after 5 pm, and within a few minutes I could hear it calling from the overhead wires. My attempts at flight shots failed as the Sony a7RIV and 200-600mm could not track or focus on the bird in flight. But it did ok with the stationary subject.
