While driving home from work I spotted a solitary bird atop the fruiting trees in the median of Jefferson Avenue just south of Sibley Rd. in Riverview, MI. Skies were overcast and dark; it had been drizzling part of the day, so the bird was just a dark silhouette. But the long, cocked tail tipped me off immediately. Northern Mockingbird!

Luckily, I had decided to bring the Sony a9 and 200-600mm lens w/ me to work today, so it was just a matter of pulling over and getting some pics from the street below. 





I haven't seen the mockingbird in about 3 years, so this was a treat!
