Sony a7RIV For Sale - 27 Jan 2021

I am selling my magnificent Sony a7RIV camera to make room for the new Alpha 1 (A1) camera just announced by Sony yesterday. This is a difficult decision to make, since I absolutely love this camera. But, I'm banking that the new A1 will give me the resolution and image quality that I've come to expect from this camera.  Purchased in April 2020 from B&H Photo I am asking $2100.00. I'm including an extra battery and U3II 64GB memory card w/ the camera and original packing (box and manuals). The camera has 18,874 shutter actuations. I will pay for shipping.

I purchased this camera to test as a digiscoping camera, and found it to be exceptional when connected to my Swarovski STX85 Spotting Scope via a Digidapter™. See my blog post for review.

Image quality is stellar when coupled w/ the Sony 200-600mm f/5.6-6.3 G OSS lens and 1.4TC. Tracking is excellent on fast-moving birds like shorebirds and BIF's (when lighting is good).

I have found that the documented issues w/ the 200-600 on BIF's is founded. I found that under good light the camera works very well tracking birds, but on overcast days when contrast is poor the camera's performance struggles. Tracking is so good w/ the Sony a9 that I now use it exclusively for all my bird photography, so the a7RIV is not getting the use it deserves.

Please send me an email at jerry.jourdan@gmail.com if interested. I will take PayPal payment and will pay for shipping (camera is ship-ready).

Happy shooting!
