At one point the female Wilson's Phalarope worked her way around the shelter to the path-side of the shelter and stopped at a puddle next to the path. She started probing the puddle, then came up w/ a huge leech. She struggled with it for several minutes before spitting it out. Apparently, there was a bit too much mucous to have to deal with.
