Great-crested Flycatchers - 27 Aug 2021
I took a quick walk around the Marshland Museum late this afternoon to look for warblers. After last nite's rain storms they seemed to have pushed on. I heard only a House Finch singing in the canopy and saw nothing else. I settled for this giant Pondhawk(?) that landed nearby.
Just before reaching Luc's pen along the east side of the trail I spotted a half-dozen Baltimore Orioles and a pair of Great-crested Flycatchers. I managed a couple pics of the flycatcher before the small flock moved on.

I then drove over to Humbug Marsh and walked the short loop by the Visitor's Center. Again, no warblers. But, a flock of a dozen Baltimore Orioles, several pairs of Great-crested Flycatchers, and Warbling Vireos made for a quick 5 minutes of action.
Several people had commented that their orioles had disappeared. I suspect that they are making their push out of town. Same for the GC Flycatchers.
