Snow Goose - 02, 04 Nov 2021

This morning Justin Labadie found a Snow Goose at Elizabeth Park in Trenton, Wayne Co., MI. I was only 15 minutes away, so I took an early lunch and drove out of Wyandotte to look for it. 

Amazingly, I looped the park and found the Snow Goose next to the road and close enough that all I had to do was pull up, roll down the window, and take a couple hundred images. I then drove back to work.

I went back after work and did not see the bird.

The following day I stopped by and did not see it.

But, on the 4th I stopped by after work and found the goose at the entrance to the park next to the canal. Again, I was able to just pull up and photograph the bird through the car window.

The Snow Goose spooked, and flew off toward the canal where it swam briefly before stopping to preen and fluff. 

Eventually, it swam off with the Canada Geese and I would see it briefly as I drove on toward the refuge.
