Great-crested Flycatchers - 22 May 2022

I drove down to the Detroit River International Wildlife Refuge this morning to look for a Prothonotary Warbler that was reported yesterday. I dipped. I had to settle for a pair of fly-over Green Herons at the entrance to the short trail behind the Visitor Center.

I did find a pair of Great-crested Flycatchers frolicking near the delta shoreline. Too bad the lighting was not better. Cloudy skies and a cool breeze made for dark shooting conditions.

A short distance further an Indigo Bunting was singing overhead.

The only warblers seen were Yellow (plenty) and American Redstart (single bird; female).
