Yellow-rumped Warbler - 12 Sep 2022

An early afternoon walk at the Detroit River International Wildlife Refuge was as frustrating as the trip it took to get there. Too many trains kept detouring me from my destination, but after 25 minutes of driving I finally made it.

The short loop behind the Visitor Center was Q.U.I.E.T. I saw both an Eastern Phoebe and Eastern Wood-Pewee but nothing else. When I looped around back to the NW corner of the short loop I spotted a single Yellow-rumped Warbler in the trees overhead.

It was a drab bird, so I had planned not to chase it. But, with nothing else around I decided to grab a few pics. I'm glad I did. Surprisingly, I got some nice pics as it foraged on poison ivy berries?
