Long-tailed Duck at DRIWR - 10-11 Dec 2022
A male (sub-adult) Long-tailed Duck was found in the Monguagon pond in front of the Humbug Marsh Unit at the Detroit River International Wildlife Refuge this morning. As of 5:20 pm this evening (last light) I was able to see it swimming around in the pond. Hopefully it will be there in the morning for pics!

And, it was! I made a swing through the refuge first thing this morning but did not see the duck. As I was leaving I stopped to check the pond again, and this time the Long-tailed Duck popped into view. So, I turned back around and parked.
The duck was foraging next to the boardwalk separating the two ponds. I was able to walk within 50' of it and get some pics w/ both the digiscoping rig and the 600/4.
