Fog at the Refuge - 25 Jan 2024

I dropped Robin off at the dentist and had about an hour to kill, so I drove over to the Detroit River International Wildlife Refuge. The past several days have hosted dense fog, so photo opps for birds have been hard to come by.

I drove down by the Detroit River and found ~400 Mute Swans ( a couple Tundra Swans among them) crowded along the near shore and ice around the island.

An adult Bald Eagle was in the trees overlooking the concentration of swans, so I grabbed a few pics from the car.

I'd find a Red-tailed Hawk perched next to the pond at the entrance to the Refuge on my way out.
