Detroit River Hawk Watch - 14 Sep 2024
Morning at Detroit River Hawk Watch was a bit slow. With temps to reach mid-80's today on SW winds we were hoping for a repeat of yesterday's 600+ birds. But only the occasional Northern Harrier or distant Sharp-shinned Hawk got our attention.
Just a few minutes before 11 am did the first Broad-winged Hawks make an appearance. A nice kettle of about 32 birds soared overhead before drifting to the west.
