Wood Ducks - 18 Sep 2024

I stopped by the Marshland Museum this morning before hawk watch and walked the trails. Warblers continue to be sparse, but I did run into a Bay-breasted Warbler and a Red-eyed Vireo.

Several Wood Ducks were swimming in the canal to my right, and I managed a couple pics before they flew off in terror.

This White-tailed Deer fawn was foraging on one of the lookouts and nonchalantly foraged just a few feet away before walking past me to join mom in the bushes.

Like yesterday the Detroit River Hawk Watch did not show any action until just after 11 am when a small squadron of Broad-winged Hawks flew overhead.
