A Short Hawk Watch Visit - 18 Oct 2024
I had planned to go to the Detroit River Hawk Watch this afternoon to take a new panorama of the site for future brochures; many of the landmarks have changed over the past few years. Arriving just after 1 pm I was just in time to scope a Rough-legged Hawk that was circling over the Channel to the north.
As for the afternoon things were kinda slow. I spent some time scoping the trees across the channel but began to feel motion sickness and dizzy from scanning the skies. Then I started feeling queasy, so I quickly took my gear and headed home (I'd spend the afternoon sleeping off an upset stomach). At least I saw a Roughy...
