Grackle Swarm - 23 Oct 2024
This morning, while looking through the microscope, I heard the loud raucous calls of Common Grackles coming from outside. When I lifted my head I saw a swarm of grackles on the ground, in the trees, on the feeders, and in the air. I estimated 300+ birds. Grabbing the camera I quickly photographed some of the action before the swarm moved on. The entire incident lasted no longer than 5 minutes...
