A Quick Morning Ride - 03 Jun 2025
I decided to make a quick ride at Pt. Mouillee to look for the Wilson's Phalarope south of the Pump House in the Humphries Unit.
Parking at Mouillee Creek I rode out to the spot where the Volkers reported the bird but it was a no-show. I heard the Black-necked Stilt pair where the Hudsonian Godwits were a few days ago but they were hiding behind the grassy island. The Eurasian Wigeon continues. The ibises and godwits were gone.
I ran into Andrew Simon and he reported a BNST at the end of the Middle Causeway resting on a small island (possible nest?).
Driving home along Haggerman Rd. I spotted a Savannah Sparrow and took a quick pic. No Dickcissels yet.
