Lautenschlager Unit Shorebirds - 11 Aug 2025

There was a nice mix of shorebirds in the Lautenschlager Unit this morning. Amber Piotter and I saw dozens of Short-billed Dowitchers, Lesser Yellowlegs, Semipalmated Sandpipers, Semipalmated Plovers, Pectoral Sandpipers, and Least Sandpipers.  The highlights of the morning were a Red Knot, a pair of Black-bellied Plovers, and five Black-necked Stilts that included 2 juveniles!

Andrew Simon reported a Hudsonian Godwit, 9 American Avocets, SBDO and LBDO, and a Willet in Cell 3. I didn't have time to chase, so I rode back to the car and home.
