Nice Warbler Mix at Elizabeth Park - 10 Sep 2025

Skies were partly clear this morning, calm, and a pleasant 60ºF as I pulled into Elizabeth Park at 8:20 am. This morning I brought a ⅓ of a 5-gallon jug filled with water and headed to the creek bed to refill the little pond. Once again I'd see no birds using it, but I'm satisfied that there is a water source for them if needed.

Warblers were hopping this morning. The N-S trail in the middle of the park had a nice mix of Bay-breasted Warblers, 

Cape May Warbler, Canada Warbler, Blackburnian Warbler, several American Redstarts, 

Black-and-White Warblers,

Chestnut-sided Warblers,

Swainson's Thrush,

Nashville Warblers,

Magnolia Warblers, 

and Wilson's Warblers.

I would also see Black-throated Green Warbler, Black-throated Blue Warbler, and a Mourning Warbler in the dry creek bed between the N and S trails in the center of the island. Tennessee Warblers and Easter Wood-Pewees were also nice finds.
