Tough Warbling This Morning - 24 Sep 2026

The warblers were not so cooperative this morning at Elizabeth Park. Under clear skies and a steady breeze they were first absent, then extremely high in the canopy, far out of camera distance, then too quick for the low-light conditions (ISO 64,000). Still, I managed to see (and ID) a few birds that showed momentary lapse-of-judgment.

This American Redstart preened for several minutes but never turned around.

Black-throated Blue Warbler (female) was at ground level but low-light conditions prevented me from locking focus. Frustrating!

Magnolia Warbler

Black-throated Green Warbler

With lots of yard work and mulching ahead of me I didn't linger. A good visit, but a tough visit.
